On my website there is that short movie in the park, and i mention about the
WW USAF bomber and 10 killed in 44 and the memorial, i added a BBC link with
more info. I think you will find it interesting. I hope to go this year to
the memorial and if i can borrow a camera i will take some pics if anyone is
interested. Theres always a militry band and yanks come over long with our
RAF etc.and a service from some vicker or god type person (i usually leave
at that bit, as im a athiest and i dont belive all the religous stuff they
come out with, although my closest mates are all very religous of differant
types, its just not my cup of tea)

There were many many mythes and stories, but i bought the small book some
years ago for my granddad, who was there when it happend and still to this
day can remember.  the park has a vast open space of green, behind is a
stream then wooded area (where it crashed) but a quarter of a mile is a
infant school and many houses. The park would have been busy although in a
cold Feb and there was no where long enough to land safe and the only part
he could have tried was where there were children (eye witneses said the
plane was heading for the school but at the last minute the pilot made a
last second manovuor as he could see all the children in the schoolyard
playing)

The book has been out of print for years, i sent a few to the US some years
ago but i cannot find a source for anymore.

Does anyone want me to go and take some pics? I usually forget, have last
couple of years but i will make a note on the German calenders given to me
by Anetts family.

Jules, Arthur has the secret of happiness.   Run around a lot, smile all the
time while you are doing it, and raise a lot of noise when the mood moves
you!
