My Mother suffered a massive heart attack on Friday.  She was not expected
to live through the night Friday.  My brother and I decided sometime back
that we would not prolong my Mother's life should something like this
happen.  She is still hanging on as of this morning.  I never knew it would
be so hard to let her go.  She receives comfort measures only.  The doctors
say irreparable damage has been done to her heart and her brain.

Keep us in your thoughts for an easy passing for her and strength for me.

Thanks,

Camille

Camille,

In my opinion, you are doing the right thing. You are making a
well-reasoned, loving response to a bad situation. I'm glad you and
your brother are together in this -- it will make it easier for you
both. There are times when medical technology outstrip compassion and
common sense -- this is one of them.

May her passing be easy and your memories a comfort to you.

Very well said. Sometimes, death is both welcome and a merciful gift from
above.

Sending strength and support.

You got it!

As others have advised, take care of yourself and comfort yourself with
memories of better times with your mother

Thank you all for your support and thoughts at this difficult time.  My
Mother passed away at 1 a.m. this morning.  She is whole again and with God.

Although I was mostly a lurker, this group provided support and wisdom that
I do not believe could be obtained anywhere else.  So thank you all for
especially for that.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Camille.  There is a small comfort in
knowing she was spared more deterioration, and you and your brother were
spared more pain in seeing it.  My condolences.  Galena

Dear Camille,

Big hugs to you and yours.   It has been said that we in this newsgroup do
all our grieving before they pass over.   I thought that too, but I
discovered that there was still more yet to do when the actual event
happened.  May yours be brief and may your best memories help you to
celebrate her life rather than to mourn her passing.
