I haven't been online much of anywhere the last few days. I don't know
if this is right;but we have had some poison ivy out back that I might
of got into? Some close to and behind my outdoor quail pens. Real dry
here though,so I haven't noticed it so much. Wonder if the dry poison
ivy leaves will bother a person? Anyway,a quail or so gets out of one
pen now and then, runs around through the dry leaves and such and I have
to chased the blamed things down!LoL Plus,I'm wearing flip-flops or
sandals when I do that. So,a few days ago I start breaking out. Lots of
hives and extreme itching! :-( Glad I had some Calidryl lotion and
antihistamines on hand. And got somemore and some other stuff when I
went to town several days ago.

Now I would say I'm about a 1/3 healed up! :-) The broken out part on
the back of my neck is gone and things are healing up good just above my
knees and downward. So not nearly as bad as it was. Still itching pretty
good at times though and taking antihistamines about every 4 or so
hours. Plus, extra vitamen C and brewers
yeast. Sleeping a lot from the antihistamine talblets.

One big problem is my hands. The hives really got bad on them. They're
not itching now;but lots of dry, scaly skin on them. Especially on the
fingers and some in one palm. So it's good that old skin is coming off
and that below it looks good. Just dry, very dry hands. Have used all
sorts of lotions and that helps for a few minutes only and then I can't
even tell I've put any on. Think I will go ahead and try some of the
vitamen E oil on them and see how that works?

Well, would of liked to of been around here more and online more the last
few days; but just not up to it. So will be back more when I can. :-)

Ronny there is a product called Tecnu.   If you wash the exposed areas with
it, it will get rid of your poison ivy almost instantly.   I don't know if
you have it in stores down your way, but we have a local store that sells it
here, and we always keep it on hand, because poison ivy, poison oak, poison
sumac, all are native to this area (upstate NY) and people who work outside
can get it very easily.

You soap up with the stuff, let it lay on the skin for a bit, then wash it
off right away with water as hot as you can handle it.   Next day the poison
ivy is no longer sore or itching and it is healing right up.  It is nearly a
miracle for people like me, who are very allergic to the plant oils from
those things.   I don't know why so few people know about this stuff, it is
amazing.   It washes away the irritating plant oil even from the deeper
layers of the skin.   We've been using it for about 20 years or so.
