You are right to be wary of installing unkown programs on your
computer. However, the following link will show you where you can find

As far as I know, folding@home neither requires nor uses such
information for their servers: I've been contributing computer time to
'em for about four years now, and never had a lick of trouble. Their
servers are the only point of vulnerability, here, since (unlike all
Windows operating systems) folding@home has absolutely NO back doors to
the personal computers on which it operates.

Nope. You install folding@home, and you need never use your keyboard
again. As a matter of fact, with the right OS, you need never use your
keyboard at all.
This is, by the way, a professional opinion: my business specializes in
