just wondering if anyone here has purchased a unit, and can give me a
review of the unit you purchased. Please describe the unit you bought,
where you purchased it, approx $, likes/dislikes etc....

here is what I am looking for, I realize you may have bought a totally
different product, but any feedback is greatly appreciated...

I am looking for an bed alarm system for use with a dementia patient,
in a private home, that has the following features:

(the patient is not currently using a pacemaker)

NECESSARY FEATURES
There needs to be 2 receivers from 1 transmitter. One of the pagers
(receivers) will be 2 stories above the room that is to be monitored.
The bed frame has under mattress slats, so if it is an under mattress
system, I would need some type of mounting kit/adapter
The bed does not have bedrails
adjustable time delay

WISH LIST FEATURES (i.e. not necessary, but if you have something that
meets the following that would be great)

Ideally, I would like to have a bed mattress alarm that can be used in
conjunction with a motion sensor
it would be nice if the transmitter/receivers had low battery warnings
We would like it the alarm to be silent in the patients bedroom
It would be nice if the system were expandable, either to use floor
mats, or door alarms etc
It would be absolutely amazing if there were some type of integrated
video monitor (like a baby monitor) (if not, I can always buy a
separate baby monitor)....

The local Wal-Mart had on their shelves a motion activated wireless 2.4
GHz Security Camera and Monitor. I bought one out of curiosity last
week. It has a 5 inch black and white monitor. You can put batteries in
both units or use AC on either unit. Camera has built-in motion sensor,
and monitor can be set to come on when motion sensor is activated
(reading from the box it came in). Camera has built in microphone
(monitor can pick up sound) and has infrared LEDs so you can see in low
light situations. Haven't played wih it enough to tell you much, but it
transmitted fairly well from the porch of the house next door--a
distance of perhaps 30 feet or more. Monitor did have to be put on a
high shelf to receive better. For under $80, I had to have one to play
with. Wish they were available (and so cheaply) when I was watching my
Mom.

Q-See 2.4 GHz Wireless B&W CCTV Camera and Monitor/Receiver, QSWOSB

the reason I ask is becuase on the website it doesn't say that it is
motion activated...however, this is kinda what I am looking for, I can
use this in conjunction with a bed alarm...thanks

I bought mine through the local store. The one I have is Homeland
Security Camera "Motion Activated Wireless 2.4 GHz Security Camera &
Monitor" model #00899. I could not find it on Wal-mart's web site, but
a quick search found it on Amazon.com's site at
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/102-3014798-6268126

It is the second one down on this page. Under the camera lens is a
white half inch bubble which is the motion sensor. Hope this helps.
