brooklyn, ny assisted living facilities?

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone here has placed a loved one in
an Assisted Living Facility in Brooklyn, NY?

I am considering the Sunrise Assisted Living at Sheepshead Bay and am
wondering if any one has any personal experience with this facility. My
mom will be in the reminiscence program, since she needs the secure
environment.

Thanks for any advice, about this or any other ALF in Brooklyn, NY..

PS-if you have a loved one in Manhattan or Queens and think the
facility is the best thing since sliced bread, I would like to hear
about those places too...

Hi there,

I worked for Sunrise from 2002-2004, first at the one in Mill Basin,
Brooklyn and then I moved to a Sunrise in New Jersey. I currently am the
director of an Alzheimer's Adult Day program in New Jersey and, although
Sunrise turned out not to be a great place for me to work, I still recommend
their Reminiscence program to any of my client's families who are
considering the move to assisted living.

Another place I would recommend for you would be Hearthstone Alzheimer's
Care in Manhattan, www.thehearth.org
