Somethings Stressing Me Out Lately

Ronny TX - 12 May 2005 05:12 GMT Apologies for somethings I said in some thead posts of mine tonight. I was just letting off some steam because somethings have been stressing me out lately and today another stress was added on to that because for some reason no one came from the home health place today to stay with Mom? I knew my cousin wasn't coming today as her sister is here on vacation;but she had told me another lady would be here today. And I was really wanting/planning on going to town today so I could pick up somethings to finish my last project and get on with the one I'm on now. So this last straw of no one showing up today sort of bummed me out! LoL
And too, recently my main club discussion group that I post in on WebTV closed down and the fellow who started that went off WebTV. Long story;but I think most of that was caused by a small group of people being so hateful to him and someothers and that for a long time. So I just miss that group and a number of people on it,some of which I have known for 5 years now. And not sure what will come out of all of this now?
Funny thing,I can now look back at the last several weeks and see something just wasn't/isn't right. I mean,I didn't think I was depressed;but yet when I look at it, some of my actions say otherwise. For one thing, losing a lot of interest in something that I was very happy and interested in starting, that's a sign of depression for me. And just doing the least of what has to be done is another sign.
Now I'm doing a bit better over the last few days. Getting on with somethings like fixing up a quail pen and getting a start on building a cabinet incubator. Both of which I've wanted to do and use. I know it's good for me to get on with doing things that interest me and make me happy. That's one reason I was bummed out today about someone not showing up from home health care and therefore me not being able to go to town and get some lumber and such I need for my projects. I'm just at a standstill on them until I get a few things and that I don't like at all and so here I am griping about it! LoL
Enough griping for now. I better get to bed in a bit as someone may show up in the morning or early afternoon from home health care.
Ronny TX - 13 May 2005 14:07 GMT Thought someone would show up from home health care yesterday,to stay with Mom while I went to town;but no one did. Well, cousin is supposed to come today. Sometimes it's 9 or 10am and sometimes it's not till 12 or 1pm;but either way I need to soon finish getting ready to go to town before she gets here.
Maybe in my next post I'll be in a better mood because someone came and I got to go do some needed shopping! LoL

> Evelyn: > Hope your much needed relief shows up! Ronny: Finally did around 2pm. :-) So I hurried off to town and didn't get back until 5:40.
Got me an old Readers Digest condensed book at Goodwill for light reading. And for $3 I think I found just what I needed there as well for the front of the incubator I'm building! A framed piece of heavy glass-about 18x18 inches square,so that really made me happy! :-)
Then got my poultry feed at the farm store & some lumber and other things at Lowe's. So I got what I need to get back to work on somethings. :-)
Got most of the groceries at one store and then on to our local Piggly Wiggly because they had catfish on sale. :-) Got 15lbs of catfish nuggests for $15.90! Just hate I forgot to put down the spice you mentioned on my grocery bill;but can get that next week.
Then got home and found a neighbor had dropped off 4lbs of hamburger and two roasts! :-) And this is from farm raised beef,so extra tasty and lean!
Oh and I bought a huge bag of frozen tater tots cause I like them better than hushpuppies. (ha) So I have some extra cooking and Mom and me some eating to do this coming week! LoL
Didn't mean to fall asleep in my chair about 30 minutes before dark;but I did. Wanted to wait until I had gotten the guineas up at dusk. Fell asleep though and slept for about 15 minutes. Glad I woke up in time to get those birds up. Don't want them roosting in the trees as something would probably kill some of them. And my 6 month old cat trouble did not help me in getting those guineas up!:-( In fact he was a little pest in chasing them, hiding in the grass and jumping out and scaring some of them so that they scattered ever which way. If I had of had the energy I would of wrung his little neck!LoL But finally got them safely up, got Mom her meds,so now everything that has to be done for the day is done. Now that's a nice feeling! LoL
Mom's a bit restless tonight. Sleeping mostly though;but having to get up now and then in the last half hour. I gave her a Benedryl about noon so she would hopefully stay calm and or sleep while cousin was here this evening. Now I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have done that. But the other day when help was here Mom was in a rather fiesty, fighting, not in a good mood day a good bit of the time!:-)
Better get on. Probably won't stay up that late tonight! (ha)

Ronny TX - 14 May 2005 16:07 GMT > Re: Somethings Stressing Me Out Lately > [quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > Ronny, hope you got a good night's > sleep. Gwen Ronny: Thank you. :-) And I did pretty good. Got to sleep about 2:30am and got up around 8:30. Had a headache though-probably from staying up too long and sleeping so sound! (ha) Took some aspirin for that, rolled my shoulders a bit and got outside some. Muscles right down below the base of my neck are tightening up again though,so I better get off line in a bit,sit and relax, read a book or do something like that. Yeah, stayed up too late and after leaving here I checked out another group that I've just been in for a few days. There's a thread going there that I've replied to a few times and I figured I just might of stirred up a little something there and sure enough I had. LoL Replied to 3 posts there and a couple of times to another post in another thread that set me off. Took a good bit of time to completely respond to this news article that was posted there. (ha) So,my own fault for being up too late! LoL Although for awhile I really did need to stay up late to watch Mom last night. She was just sort of out of it. Half awake, half asleep, nervous and such. Would sit up and say she needed to go to her potty chair;but most of the time she would just lay back down. Onetime she got up and said she was going home. Got through the kitchen to the door there, stopped and came back and lay down and back to sleep.
I said in my other post that a neighbor had brought us some hamburger and 2 roasts yesterday while I was in town. Boy does that one roast smell good now! LoL This morning I thawed it out in the microwave, browned it in my 12 inch cast iron skillet, seasoned it with something called Tony Chackere's Creole Seasoning, put some hot water in the pan and have had it simmering for 40 minutes now. Will let it go a good while so it will be good and tender so Mom can eat it. Or if it doesn't get tender enough for her,I will put her part through the food processor. Love our food processor for stuff like that! :-) One of the best things we ever bought or was given as a gift. It just makes it so easy to grind up food that Mom could not and or would have a very tough time eating.
Would like to reply to another few posts in here this morning;but I better get off of here for now,eat a bit myself and rest!(ha)

Hi Ronny,
So glad you got all your chores done in town and out and about.
About your mom getting more feisty, that does seem to tend to be a part of the process of the illness. When Ida got that way the doctor upped her Zoloft, and that seemed to keep her more content and relaxed about life. When that stopped working, and her delusions got more compelling, he added the Risperdol. Even with the meds it was rough at times.
Have you given any thought about what you'll do if she needs more watching?
Good luck with your catfish! The name of the spice is "Seafood Magic" by Paul Prudhomme. It is a tall bottle inside a white and orange box near the spices. They also have a "vegetable magic" which is very good on fried potatoes and many other things. I don't seem to care for the other seasonings he makes, just those two seem to work well for us. I even occasionally use the seafood magic on chicken.

Ronny: So far it's been good since the other day. Mom staying in a better mood.
:-) Evelyn: Have you given any thought about what you'll do if she needs more watching?
Ronny: Not that much. And I need to.

Ronny: I need to be absolutely sure I put that seasoning on the bill this time! LoL
Tired tonight-got a good bit of work done yesterday and today.
