Bath Chairs and other neat stuff

A few days ago, there was a discussion about bath chairs which I didn't pay
a lot of attention to (since I didn't need one).  Today at the doc's, I
picked up a copy of a catalog that specializes in such stuff called
Functional Solutions.  Apparently their parent company is North Coast
Medical.

Their catalog has more choices than their website (
http://www.beabletodo.com/Detail.bok?no=2 ) and you can order it online or
call 1-800-235-7054.  The best one (IMO), which I don't see on the website,
is by Rubbermaid and looks like it would be stable and comfortable.

I was enthused because it has other handy things like scissors for people
with arthritic knuckles and elastic shoe laces that let you slip shoes off
and on again without re-tying them.

Good webpage! :-) Mom has a bathtub chair like this one.
http://www.beabletodo.com/Detail.bok?no=309 Which is great because she
can now sit down and slip her legs over into the tub. The other one she
had was completely in the tub and she had to stand and lift each leg in.
Not good for her-not even with me or me and the home health care lady
helping her! The new chair is just a lot easier to use because it sits
partly outside the bathtub :-) and it takes away Mom's fear of falling.
Just a lot easier to use! :-) And much easier to talk her into! LoL

OK,this morning wasn't so easy; :-) but once I got Mom to sit on her
chair, then it wasn't too hard to get one leg at a time into the tub.
This in spite of the threats she was giving me! LoL And the flexible
shower lines are great too. :-) Had a bit of a fuss about using that
this morning; :-) but it got used and Mom got her bath! LoL

You're welcome.  Were you the one looking for the bath chair?  I couldn't
remember who it was.

FYI, the catalog has more things in it than are shown on the website.

Personally, I want the scissors with big finger spaces that won't pinch my
knuckles.  It amazes me that some things have not had a basic design change
in hundreds of years.  Scissors are one that's due for improvement, IMO.

No, I didn't ask for the information. But, I thank you for having the
kindness to broadcast your good news widely. I need a chair in the bathtub
to assist my wife with her daily shaving routines, and for lord knows
whatever else I'll discover that you ladies may attend to during those hours
you spend in the bathroom each day! <GGG> Life's onewayness amazes me with
the new skills that must be learned seemingly after every neural transfer
collapse.

Thanks again, go'l
