Haven't gotten to be around here as much lately as I would of liked to
have been.

Got my self propelled bagger mower going Friday and got about a 1/3 of
the yard mowed. Also a lot of smaller limbs and pinecones picked up and
burnt.

Then Saturday I got one of my push mowers going. Wanted that one for
getting into tight places;but ended up using it for most of the rest of
the mowing after my self propelled mower stopped on me and I couldn't
keep it running after that. Think I need to take off its carb and give
that a good cleaning.

Finally got the rest of the yard mowing finished Saturday evening and
got more small brush and limbs burnt. Have a bit more to do on picking
up some junk in the yard;but not a lot. :-)

Also set 46 guinea eggs in my 2nd incubator Saturday morning. :-)
Thinking I might set the 2nd one with guinea eggs next week, after my
quail eggs hatch that are in it now?

And looking forward to the chicks hatching about the 20th or 21st. Sure
the Mama Hen who's sitting on those eggs is looking forward to that too!
LoL

Sure was sore and tired last night after all the yard work! :-) Mostly
just somewhat sore, here and there, this morning! LoL But it's worth it
what with the yard looking so much better! :-)

At times I had to keep both front and back doors to the house locked.
Was afraid Mom might get out and be gone off before I noticed,if I were
on the side of the house away from the door she might go out. And did
not want her out where I was mowing for fear the lawn mower might throw
something out at her! So just easier on me to keep both front and back
door locked part of the time as I mowed.

So I've had two nice sunshiney days to mow and pick up things. Only
Saturday morning I had to wait until 11am for the dew to dry off first
and it still wasn't completely dry in places when I started mowing!

Here in Woodstock it really is spring.  The daffodils are up and blooming,
the forsythia bushes too.  And downtown Woodstock is booming with drummers
in the streets, guitar players in the square, and hippies of all ages
cruising the shops and cafes.    I usually avoid the downtown area like the
plague unless out of town visitors come and want to take in the scene.   I
am content living in the outlying farm area where it is still a country
scenario.

Our neighbor who helped us take care of Ida went to see her yesterday.  She
came home in tears to see how ill she has gotten.  She agreed with us that
we are all praying she passes peacefully.  That is no way to live.   She
seems to be laboring for breath somewhat, and they are using a nebulizer to
ease her breathing.

Evelyn, when my dad called me that Mother had died, I said "Thank the Lord".
She had been so sick for so long in a fetal position and unable to talk or
eat or drink. As you said, that is no life.  That's why I couldn't cry when
Grayson died; he was so much better off.  I'll join you in hoping Ida soon
passes away from this illness that invaded her brain.

I think the nebulizer is one of the 10 best things ever invented.  They
used to bring it to me when I was in the hospital with pneumonia, and I
always felt better after the treatment, some sort of green gel that
got "burned," and I would breathe it in until it was gone.

Pneumonia hurts, at least the bacterial kind.  I never knew that until
I got it.  I was hugging blue ice to my chest by the time I went into
the hospital, trying to ease the pain.  I hope this is not Ida's
problem, and that she's not in pain.

No she insists she isn't feeling any pain, but they do give her pain meds
sometimes if she is in any.  They said the pancreatic cancer is pressing
somehow on her diaphragm as it is swollen, so they use this nebulizer to
ease her breathing.
