I'm having to use Google to read the NG now and I don't see a post
since day before yesterday (Tuesday).  Guess all are busy at other
things.

Hi Gwen,  I am still reading here, but it is true that everyone seems to
have gone quiet.

Let's blame it on the weather!  It's supposed to be more like spring but all
I hear from the weatherman is snow and temperatures below freezing.  Enough!
I feel trapped by the weather and this lousy disease and the toll it takes
on all of us.  Does anyone have an encouraging word?  Ruth

Travel...... down to sunny WA Australia where it's late summer with lovely warm
days and the occasional hot one!

Anthony,
You made me smile and laugh out loud!  Thank you for that!  It's a devil of
a flight to get to where you are or we would have stopped by for a visit
years ago.  :-)
Take care.  Ruth

My husband had the bright idea at one time that he would like for us to
move to Australia.  Didn't last long though!  I really would like to
visit.

Well, that's where it started--one bad day at work in Cape Town.

And for me -- one "camel and last straw" experience over a piece of cheese
in Harare. Seriously.

Strange how relatively trivial straws can motivate otherwise insurmountable
delays :-)

Hope it worked as well for you as it did for us.

It did, and there are many times I thank that humble sliver of rationed
cheese for changing the course of my life.

Oh Lee, so sorry to hear that.  I sympathize deeply.   Kidney stones are the
pits.

thanks evelyn

even worse when trying to take care of MIL - can't nap - she either gets all
in a panic because she can't recognize me laying down, or fusses and keeps
TOUCHING me

can't work, because a) I'm too out of it to be messing with other people's
computers and b) she's so incredibly needy today - can't go out to the other
room without her getting all upset

so tired ....and frustrated

she keeps coming over and trying to ask for something but I don't have a
flipping clue what it is she's asking and neither does she

I've offered food, a drink, a cigarette, kleenex.... anything I can possibly
think of and she says that none of those are it....

we've been doing this for over an hour now .... am so frustrated it's all I
can do not to scream

tried to distract her with ice cream but even that's not working

Sounds very stressful.

I was lucky.... we had the two of us watching Ida, and she was very inclined
to obey her son if he told her to go sit and relax or something.   I also
had the daycare center and that few hours a day was golden for us.

I do know how you feel though.   Like you need a break.... a year long break
!!!!

don't know that that would be long enough right now

am supposed to be going away for the day on Sunday - visit my youngest kid
.... but right now the thought of driving an hour and a half each way seems
overwhelming. Of course, so does staying here.

she finally took the ice cream and gave up on whatever it was she was
fussing about .... just now she announced she was going to bed... should
have just let her rather than tell her that it's too early.

I'm figuring on heading to bed about 3 minutes after hubby gets home from
work  another hour and 45 minutes or so - but who's counting?

Lee,sorry to hear you're having so many problems right now. :-(
Marmartoo - 11 Mar 2005 04:55 GMT
I know from experience that bladder infections make you miserable, and
my son tells me that kidney stones are excruciating.  No wonder you are
barely coping.  Praying for better days.

Ronny:
I thought maybe it was because my last post scared everyone off! :-) LoL

Have to stop and think a good bit to remember what things I did
yesterday. A little too tired tonight to remember! :-)

Oh yeah. Went to town yesterday evening. Had to send a bill off at the
post office and meant to do a little shopping. Then my truck wouldn't
start at the PO. :-( Finally started. Got a part for it. Got it out to
my sisters place, put the part on and that wasn't it. Then figured it was
the starter. Got someone to bring me on home.

Today I got online a bit,fed my birds and all that usual stuff. Then
about 2:30pm the gal came that stays with Mom some. About the same time
my younger sister brought in my birthday cake! :-) And a brother-in-law
came by to take me to work on my truck. Got the starter off,he took me
to town and I got the new starter. Forgot and left my checkbook in the
truck, so brother-in-law payed for it and I told him I would write him a
check when we got back to his place. Got the new starter on and the
truck running. Oldest Sis came in from work and we talked a bit.
Remembered right at the last that I needed to write out that check to
them for the starter. Sis said nope, that's your birthday present! :-)

Got home and ate a big piece of my chocolate birthday cake. :-) Have ate
some more since then too! LoL

Cooked two quail today that I accidentally killed. :-( Didn't mean to do
that;but they sure do taste good! :-)

Watched a favorite hour long TV show and then got online a bit now.
Probably should be in bed sleeping by now! LoL

Not a bad day overall. :-) Near 70° with sunshine. So a good a day as
it gets to work outside on my truck.

Also found out a bit more about the used computer and printer I'm going
to get from one of my nieces, since she's bought herself a new one and a
printer came with it. So I'm happy about that too! :-)

And next week my youngest sister is taking me to get two new tires for
the front of my pickup. Really do need those. And that's my birthday
present from her and her husband. :-)

Yep,a pretty good day here overall. LoL
