Well,I know my 84yo Mom with alzheimers likes Sesame Street & and right
now she's enjoying watching Clifford, the Big Red Dog. :-) Earlier she
was watching Telly Tubbies (sp?) and the only problem with that show was
that she was getting a little miffed at some of the kids there not
behaving themself! LoL

Just a short while back I learned that Sesame Street could keep her
attention many times and she really enjoyed it.  I just need to write
down on the calendar or something handy when all of this is on so I'll
be sure to have the TV on in the morning and on the right station. :-)

I seldom watch the local or national news on TV as I find such is mostly
murder,
rape, robbery, war, etc, etc, etc and not much else. I watch the TV local
weather report now and then;but I can find the same online and such
seems just as accurate to me. I'm not sure how or even if the horrible
things reported on the TV news, effects my Mom? I know watching such
very much tends to make me depressed & that's the biggest reason I
seldom watch such. But I really don't know how much Mom is understanding
when they, the local or national news people, report about
robbery,rape,murder,war,etc?

Trying to get Mom to go back to bed this morning. :-) Gave her the med
for anxiety about a 1/2 hour ago. She is just fairly hyped up. Which
means it's not nearly as bad as it could be and has been at times!LoL

She's grinning and telling me somethings about Clifford the Big Red Dog
now. :-) Which is much better than a 1/2 hour ago when she was wanting
to go home. I shut up quickly on telling her we were home as that wasn't
helping things.

Mom seems to be calming down some and I am a little bit too. :-) [She
just reminded me that I have to take us home. I told her, after awhile.]
She's yawning now and may go to sleep soon and so will I,I hope! LoL But
right now there is a new PBS cartoon that is coming on that is
facinating Mom and has her grinning! :-)

My mother in law always loved to watch the 3 Stooges.  I would hear her
laughing as she watched their antics.   There was no worry about her not
being able to follow a plot, since it could be enjoyed anyway.  The other
thing was Animal Planet... but it was iffy... because sometimes they had
things about animal cruelty which I had to make sure she didn't see.  It was
too upsetting to her.   She loved to watch figure skating too... beautiful
with nice music (again no real plot to have to follow).   She adored the
movie "Baby's day out"......and also "Stewart Little"...  Also she loved old
movies from the fifties, because she had seen them before and had some long
term memory left, which made them familiar.

Ronny, why not just tape it, and then you've got 3 or 4 hours ready to go.
Tape a few shows for variety if needed but I'm guessing she wont know if she
is watching the same one every day?
