Hello everyone,

I had a pop-up from AOL stating that this newsgroup (and all others apparently)
will soon cease to exist. It also had info about reaching newsgroups from other
sources. Will this group move? I'd like to stay a part of it.

Becky, believe it or not, AOL is not the internet. This group (and all the
others) exists independently of AOL on a 'network' called usenet and it wont
be moving. Usenet was here long before AOL started. AOL are just switching
off the connection they provide to it but there are many other ways of
connecting.
Get yourself a newsreader (Outlook Express or Thunderbird are free or there
are many others) , and subscribe to a paid news service, or use a free one
like I do at news.individual.net. You can subscribe (free) at

I know, they do tell their users! ?6 or ?7 a year IIRC (havent paid yet) but
probably worth it, much better than using google groups.

Becky, AOL is just a "window" into these newsgroups. If you want to get
at them another way is to use google (go to google.com, click on google
groups and away you go).
