Life is very interesting with a 90 year old father with AD whose kind
and considerate personality is in tact. He just has no idea where in
time and space he is. But he still remembers family. Sometimes I wonder
if he's misdiagnosed. (I know denial) So much I want to ask. Just don't
know where to begin.

I once read that one in nine people diagnosed with Alzheimers are misdiagnosed.
Your dad could have vascular dementia or some other form.
Still, Alz. affects everyone differently, and maybe this is just how it affects
him right now. My mom's personality is intact too... that makes one of her
doctors think it is not Alzheimers, but another thinks it's possible she does
have it.
I am have read no statistics but from all I read and hear from other people I
get the impression that men with Alzheimers are less apt to become angry and
aggressive than women with Alzheimers. Has anyone else found this to be the
case?
