Yesterday, I was about to go outside when, while standing at the door, I had a
strange dizzy (for want of a better word) spell along with total confusion. I
couldn't remember where the kids/others were and called out to my wife asking
what happened to them. I didn't hear her responding and called out again only to
get told that we don't have any kids.

It's a strange feeling seeing yourself slip into madness.

The feeling was very strange; a combination of dizzyness, heat, perspiration and
something like nausea.

Hope nobody minds me posting like this. It helps me clarify my experience. I'm
getting a lot of benefit here and hope my comments don't get anybody upset.

Anthony, see your doctor!! Sounds like a transient ischemic attack (at
TIA) and its something both you and your doctor should take very
seriously.

Could either be a TIA or perhaps even a small stroke.

Could also be the beginning stages of AD. Have you been diagnosed, or
are you expecting it because a relative has it?

I hope that whatever the case, that you *do* go see a doctor straight
away and please *do* keep us all posted.

I for one, don't mind your sharing.

And may God bless you,

Feather

Probably the latter - my neuro has referred me for a eeg. - yes, I do have AD.

are you certain that the diagnosis ruled out vascular dementia,
which is caused by strokes and TIAs?  if you do have a vascular
dementia, you need to get some treatment to reduce your blood
pressure to reduce the likelihood of further ones.

if your diagnosis didn't involve extensive testing, ask your doc
to be referred for a full neuro-psychiatric workup, including
whatever brain scans they deem necessary.  if it turns out the
diagnosis was wrong, the treatment you really need could be quite
different from what you're getting now.

My blood pressure has always been normal.

Naturally......

I've got more scan badges than a 5 star general!! PET, MRI etc

OK. I would, if it's alright with you, be very interested in reading
more of your experiences as they come, and as you are able to post them.

:) Well, God most assuredly didn't give it to you. . .but I don't know
why He allows it to happen.

As my client says: "It really sucks." (Only she uses much stronger
language.)

So, God bless you,

Feather
