Besides the obvious drawbacks of a distant NH,since we can travel easily
at low cost, does any one know if placement in another state other than his
legal state of residency is possible ?
We are paying fully for my father's care, just wondering if that is possible
or
totally off the wall ?

No, it's not off the wall - especially if you will be privately paying for
the placement.  I'm a social worker in hospice but do help with NH
placements.  If you'd like any more info, please feel free to e mail me.
