Good Morning All...

Today is the first day that a "helper" is coming to my parents house.
Jason will be there to help get things set up--how they want things
done, etc.. I will be there to show her the way they like their
sandwiches made, where the supplies are, and then I will come home.
Mum has been in a less than nice mood for the past few days. Part of
it is probably waiting for the results of her vascular studies, I
think...
I know I cannot control any of what happens, but I sure wish I felt
more at ease about this whole thing! If I am really honest with myself
about it then I have to say that I am concerned about Mum's reaction
to her helper and if the helper will understand...'course Mum may
surprise me and be fine with it.
I gotta let go of this worry and just see how it goes.

Dear Donnah,

Worry won't change anything, so don't worry.

If something can be changed, there is no need to worry, so don't worry.

(((Evelyn)))
thank you...
It went better than I thought it would. Both of them were like little
kids (!), kind of excited and welcomed Wendy and she was so sweet with
them. Mum kept asking me if it was all right for her to do (insert
different cleaning jobs) and I would ask Wendy and she would tell her,
"Miss Margaret, all you have to do is tell me what you want done and
I'll do it. And if I don't do it the way you want, I'll redo it." That
seemed to make Mum feel better...
Dad showed off by tipping his lounger up so Wendy could vacuum under
it and was po'd when I asked him to put it down...and when I told Dad
it was too dangerous for him to be doing, Wendy very nicely told him
that it was her job to do, but that he could tell her what spots she
missed. It made him laugh and it was such a lovely sound!
Tomorrow when I go down they may have some complaints, and this is ok.
It is their home and they have a right to have things done right. And
it usually is little things like the bathroom waste basket may not
have been emptied or a spot missed when dusting...all things that can
be listed and asked for next time.
All in all, it went much better than I was "worrying" about--they
seemed to enjoy her company.
Whew!

Evelyn, thank you...
And I actually slept almost 7 hours last night--what a treat! But one
that I know can be the norm and not the exception. It's amazing how
sleep can make things feel better!
