Is it usual for memory problems  to be more erratic with vascular dementia
as compared to AD?
Wife was dxed with vascular dementia in December and i'vr noticed that
sometimes her short term memory is markedly better than others.

tj, with any dementia there are times when everything seems to click for a
moment or two and memory works; but then it goes back to not remembering.
My husband had two mild strokes and AD, and this happened to him.

As I understand it, progression is more erratic than in Alz, but as with any
disease, can have good and bad days depending on other factors.
