Is the CT brain scan covered under Medicare?

I'm not sure if a brain CT scan would be covered by Medicare for
diagnostic/screening reasons.  However, it's covered for trauma to the
head-as in after a fall.  If there's not a specific neurological cause
(tumor, stroke), it tends to show only brain atrophy-which doesn't
really tell you anything.  In my experience new stroke damage often does
not appear as well- even though there's an obvious paralysis.  Problems
like Parkinson's Disease or multiple sclerosis also tend not to be
particularly visible in early stages.

It is if there is a proper referral.
