I'm not sure if a brain CT scan would be covered by Medicare for
diagnostic/screening reasons. However, it's covered for trauma to the
head-as in after a fall. If there's not a specific neurological cause
(tumor, stroke), it tends to show only brain atrophy-which doesn't
really tell you anything. In my experience new stroke damage often does
not appear as well- even though there's an obvious paralysis. Problems
like Parkinson's Disease or multiple sclerosis also tend not to be
particularly visible in early stages.

My husband's was paid for by Medicare, also the MRI.
