We went to the doctor today and got Mom on aricept. Doctor was asking a few
more questions to make sure it was appropriate -- after all her MMSE is 29.
But I told her three incidents that occurred in the last two weeks and she
agreed meds were in order.

So she starts tomorrow morning on 5 mg -- hope she avoids the nausea.

Thanks for letting me vent along the way on this!

Songbird, Grayson's nausea lasted about two weeks, and never bothered him
again.

Ruth had no problems with 5mg.  When she was raised to 10mg she vomited
once, then no other problems.

Hi Songbird,

Aricept was such a great help to Ida.   She did get a little nauseous in the
very beginning, but it passed.

huge help to my dad for about 3  years. No nausea at all (that he mentioned
anyway).

Good luck, Songbird.  John's stomach was so bad originally, I can't
comment on nausea.  The aricept really helped stabilize his
memory---wish he would go back on it, but right now he just wants his
stomach pill & resperidol for agitation.

Always,

Char
