We met with the Alz Assoc lady Wednesday night. As usual, Dad talked his
head off, though rarely on the subject, and Mom said little. Afterwards, I
asked if she had any questions or concerns or things she didn't understand.
She said the one thing that really "spoke" to her was that she should look
into Aricept. (Hallelujah!) She has no recollection of doctor offering it to
her or her refusing it.
I think Dad was glad to know he has someone he can talk to, though I don't
expect him to check out the support groups just yet. She kept talking about
his reponsibilities as the primary caregiver, and I am not sure he had
really seen himself that way before. It hadn't "come home to him" that Mom
*needed* a caregiver.
So ... we have a 2 pm Monday appt to discuss Aricept! Now let's see if it
helps...

That's great, Songbird. It's at least a good step in the right direction
:-)
