I wrote early today about a new drug, but since I found this group, I
wanted to ask, just how long do most people have this awful problem. My
mother started having symptoms when she was 70 she is now 83 and has
gone down hill through the years till she's just like a zombie now. She
just lays there, snores with her eyes open or closed and her mouth open.
To sad for words.
She lived with me till I couldn't do it anymore, I was honestly beating
my head against the wall. So I had to put her in a home, she's been
there since 95. She's in diapers and the nurse's feed her, but she's not
there, I know you know what I mean. I will never understand WHY!!
Thanks for letting me vent, I have a brother and sister, but they don't
seem to have time for our mother,
Aimee

could be anywhere from 2 or 3 years to 22 or 23 with most people in the

It is such a cruel disease. Some last for years and years. My father faded
and died fairly quickly: three years.
It is times like this that you just want it to be over. Those thoughts lead
to guilt. But, you just want the suffering to be over. Don't feel guilty.
Blame the disease.
It is hard to be the one that becomes the parent the parent.
