Wouldn't someone poking you with needles raise your bloodpressure?
But seriously, bloodpressure is a symptom of a wide variety of
cardiovascular conditions. You really need to find out WHY you have high
bloodpressure, and then consult a real physician to treat it -- or die a
long, painful lingering death like one of my uncles by marriage (it was a
genetic form of hypertension, all members of that family tended to die
before they were 50 years old, until medication became available in the
mid-20th century, now they are living into their 80's):

As a licensed Acupuncturist, I would say that high blood pressure is a very
serious condition. If you are already under the care of an MD and are taking
appropriate therapies (meds, diet, exercise, etc) and want to add acupuncture
to that, it MAY be of some help.
Acupuncture should NOT be used as sole treatment for this condition.
