KevysMom - 13 Jul 2009 04:32 GMT The government is spending $1 billion on a new vaccine. Nearly 100,000 people have been infected worldwide - 37,000 of those in the use and 429 people worldwide have died from complications of the virus, including 211 in this country.

OVER 4 MILLION die from starvation, and we are spending OVER a BILLION Tax Dollars for what??? And those deaths are most likely linked to an adverse reaction to some drug they are being treated with!
Every five seconds a child dies from starvation, I wonder how many children we could have saved with that $1 BILLION dollars!
The World Health Organization estimates that one-third of the world is well-fed, one-third is under-fed one-third is starving- Since you've entered this site at least 200 people have died of starvation. Over 4 million will die this year.
One in twelve people worldwide is malnourished, including 160 million children under the age of 5. United Nations Food and Agriculture
The Indian subcontinent has nearly half the world's hungry people. Africa and the rest of Asia together have approximately 40%, and the remaining hungry people are found in Latin America and other parts of the world. Hunger in Global Economy
Nearly one in four people, 1.3 billion - a majority of humanity - live on less than $1 per day, while the world's 358 billionaires have assets exceeding the combined annual incomes of countries with 45 percent of the world's people. UNICEF
3 billion people in the world today struggle to survive on US$2/day.
In 1994 the Urban Institute in Washington DC estimated that one out of 6 elderly people in the U.S. has an inadequate diet.
In the U.S. hunger and race are related. In 1991 46% of African- American children were chronically hungry, and 40% of Latino children were chronically hungry compared to 16% of white children.
The infant mortality rate is closely linked to inadequate nutrition among pregnant women. The U.S. ranks 23rd among industrial nations in infant mortality. African-American infants die at nearly twice the rate of white infants.
One out of every eight children under the age of twelve in the U.S. goes to bed hungry every night.

He changed the subject line to
"Re: The government is spending $1 billion on a new vaccine.--Condomes is not the subject"
Jan Drew added "--Condomes is not the subject"
Is Jan Drew a Kindergarten Fraeulein to reign over the Net? Hell, this Jan Drew is even so god-damned stupid that he cannot even count to 2.
Yes, have a look at this "math" by Jan Drew:
[...]
>> To make things a bit easier to see, this is a table of events. >> >> A person born on 26.11. 1946 is on >> >> 26.11.1946 born [...]
>> 26.11.2007 61 years old >> 26.11.2008 62 years old [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] > >NO they will not. They will be 64.
>Wrong again. This is 2009. On November of this year you will be 64. ######################################################################
>Od Course you will be 64 in 2010, until 11/26. Then, you wil be 65. #####################################################################
Let's shorten the time-span a bit:
A person born on 26.11. 1946 is on 26.11.1946 born A person born on 26.11. 1946 is on 26.11.1947 1 year old A person born on 26.11. 1946 is on 26.11.1948 2 years old
According to Jan Drew that child would be born as a 1-year-old, and 1 year later, it already would be 2 years old.
Jan Drew even can't count to 2.
But this very Jan Drew postet THOUSANDS of news into the net. How is he paid? Monthly "horonary"? "Bucks per posting"?

WE can still do both, Feed the children that are dying of starvation and educate and supply free condoms to the men!!!

And then what happens to the children when they grow up? This is a catch 22. Without an education, industry or way to feed themselves and the family they will produce, you have just increased the number of starving people in that 3rd world nation.
Feeding them is stop gap band aid, not a solution to the problem.

Teach a person to fish he eats for a life time!
Teach them how to be farmers, Help with irrigation.

Teach them to stop making babies.

Im not better than ANYONE, But, I also was smart enough and lucky enough to use birth control.

Im not better than ANYONE, But, I also was smart enough and lucky enough to use birth control. =================================== Oh, and with spermacide or other chemicals?
I doubt it was used because of wisdom, my guess it was fear of being pregnant.

I never took a birth control pill a single day in my life, Hubby used a rain coat, Until he realized I was dead serious about not having any more children, Then he went and had a simple operation.
I have two boys my youngest is profoundly disabled that NEEDS 24/7 care, So, having another baby would have been STUPID on my part considering I had one with such high needs. So, yes it was wisdom on my part to NOT have another baby.

If there was a cause then you most likely would have know aforehand and had no kids. If it was an accident or an unkown then there was no certainty it would have been repeated.
I'm not making light of your situation. I personally know women who reacted far different that yourself.

BTW, vaccines do not create starvation but being green does. Being green causes a lot of those children and their parents to starve since we use the corn they would normally eat for our alternative fuel. Ain't that great?

No. Had you been the least bit interested and been doing your share then the links you post would have always had something to do with that, links you would have been familiar with.
Besides, you show here in your post a couple of things, you do not comprehend what you post or read since YOUR post was about all the starving children, not "the poor." You do not have a mind that can stay focused on a just cause and do your part in providing solutions, all you do is what "feels good" to you ATM.
Your lame reply shows your disinterest in the subjects you posted and proves my point.

We currently have 25 times the amount of sweet oil on our continent that the Saudi's have. How about that? No offshore drilling required. :)
Seems you must have a problem with a company that sends a full half of any profits to the federal government, and that is after paying all their other "normal" taxes. Do you do that? are you willing too?
Do you support any good Web sites with your monies? Are you jealous of anyone who can make money? Did you know that Halliburton is owned by a democrat? Hmmm?
I'd bet you are a rather simple coolaid drinker and a parrot based on your posts., rather unworthy of anybodies "mom".

You do not have a mind that can stay
> focused on a just cause and do your part in providing solutions, all you > do is what "feels good" to you ATM. This whole topic is about government spending over ONE BILLION dollars for a vaccine for the swine flu that has killed less than 500 hundred people in 3 years. When we have MILLIONS dying EVERY single year because of starvation, That money would be better used to actually save lives. One poster brought up condoms, I strongly agreed with him, Condoms should be freely given to those in poor countries! Im sure they would accept the condoms and use them to prevent babies from being born in such dire conditions! But, if you paid attention to what I had wrote, you would see that I said we could do BOTH, we could feed the children and pass out free condoms to the adults! So, your pointless attack towards me was lame.

It is thoughtless people such as yourself who demand higher taxes on corporations such as Walmart, Sears, Exxon, Shell, plus your name it. All supply the needs of the poor at higher than normal costs to the poor due to your great taxation plans.
Then to add fuel to the fire, high taxes on cigarettes, booze, low milege cars, all things that the poor use daily however due to thoughtless people such as yourself the poor are driven further into poverty. Now even more thoughtless people want to raise the taxes on food or your choice of what you eat, and that my dear is a direct attack on the poor.
So tell me again, just how do you support the poor?
> Did you know that Halliburton is owned by a >> democrat? Hmmm? > > No, I didnt know that. And it doesnt surprise me at all, There is > corruption on both sides. Typical blameshifting, and using baseless assumptions to support your arguments.
Mrs. Johnson used to wholly own Haliburton.
Obama took 500K dollars in advance of being sworn in to escape certain taxes, and other reasons for a book to be published after he is out of office. Yes, part of your equal opportunity thiefs.
He is also part of the cause and effect of the banking breakdown as Senator, and personally knew and was friends of the last Gov of Illinois. I have pictures of the two of them.

But, I dont expect you to > understand that, considering your lack of logic on every other issue! Are you really that uneducated? A child can only be considered wealthy if their parents or grandparents died and will all their money to the child. There are plenty of children whose parents were wealthy but they were thrown out of the house/family when they were of age poor and penniless. Children who have a trust fund set up for them could possibly be considered wealthy depending on conditions of the trust. Other wise they are penniless and their life is not under their control.
Common sense tells us that a childs life and well being is a dependent one.
