"Urinary 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG)"

That's the latest marker for increased oxidative stress.

Effect of work conditions and work environments on the formation of 8-
OH-dG in nurses and non-nurse female workers.
Ishihara I, Nakano M, Ikushima M, Hara Y, Yoshimine T, Haraga M,
Nakatani J, Kawamoto R, Kasai H
J UOEH 2008 Sep 1; 30(3):293-308.

The purpose of our study was to examine the effects of job stress
factors on oxidative DNA injuries among female workers.
The levels of urinary 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OH-dG) were measured
along with a survey on work conditions and environments.
The result showed that female workers in shift work excreted increased
levels of 8-OH-dG in comparison with the result of those who were
engaged in part time work (P < 0.01).
Moreover, the nurses who marked higher depressive scores excreted
significantly increased levels of urinary 8-OH-dG than the nurses who
scored lower depressive states.
The result revealed a positive correlation between 8-OH-dG levels of
nurses in the 35-45 age group and the individual scores of their
depressive states (r = 0.32, P < 0.05).
Together, it was suggested that a heavy burden of work in addition to
daily domestic roles increases urinary excretion levels of 8-OH-dG.

And how many smokers among each category?

Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in hemochromatosis: recovery of
reproductive function after iron depletion
LJ Siemons and CH Mahler

We studied the effect of iron depletion on reproductive function in a
37-yr-old man with hypogonadotropic hypogonadism due to idiopathic
hemochromatosis. Before therapy, he was impotent and had no libido,
and seminal fluid analysis revealed no spermatozoa. Testicular biopsy
showed marked impairment of spermatogenesis, but no iron load
deposits. Sixteen months after institution of aggressive phlebotomy
therapy, serum LH, FSH, and testosterone were normal, and potency and
libido had returned. Twenty months after diagnosis the patient
fathered another child. Seminal fluid analysis at that time revealed
an average of 65 million spermatozoa/mL. Thus, recovery of
reproductive function, documented by hormone measurements, testicular
biopsy, and semen analysis, was complete. We conclude that phlebotomy
alone may be adequate treatment for hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in
men with hemochromatosis.

In spite of your addled brain, and the full knowledge that you
would neither read or understand the article, I just wanted to
remind you of its publication date. The test you 'discovered'
is nothing new to the medical field, as evidenced by the 1992
publication date.
Hmmm, guess that means the medical community didn't wait
for you to tell them about oxidative stress after all. Try not to
realize that you are pathetic and that your mother is concerned
about how you are going to do when she's gone.

Most of us have a hard time understanding Michael B's drivel, and an even
harder time understanding how come it gets to control usenet.
What a plank.
Either way, just killfile the twat, don't crosspost its mumblings - it only
encourages it.

The trick when dealing with cross-posting idiots is to ignore them, or reply
just once - to every group *except your own* - and kill file the idiot. If
we all do that, eventually the idiots have no place left to go. In the rare
event that you KNOW which group it pollutes, then delete all groups except
that one. So while I apologise for this cross post, you know what to do.

I find his advice welcome. I respect your feelings on it but
I'm sure it's on a more personal level, as some personalities don't
mix well. I won't be calling him names or kill filing him either
though i do that with trolls. I've found most here pretty likable
and the advice has been quite helpful to me.

Besides, treating people this way leaves you open to the same
treatment, undeservedly. I know what non acceptance feels like,
I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Have a very good day Andrew...
