Spider bite treatment

My daughter was recently bitten by a spider.  A trip to the monopoly
doctor secured a prescription for an antibiotic and prednisone.   More
proof of the incompetence and stupidity of the monopoly docs.
Well, the next day I received by first ever spider bite.  A quick
review of the net provided sparse information.  The monopoly docs had
no clue as to what to do.  One article did mention the use of an
herbal poultice to draw the venom out ( Cherokee Sentinel, Ralph
Kesselburg).  Leaning on my experience as a chemist with training in
pharmacology, this is what I came up with.

The spider venom is barely in the flesh.  The venom spreads very
slowly, liquefying the tissue and producing an ulcer as it spreads.
What I wanted was something to numb the wound, keep it free of
bacteria, neutralize the venom enzymes, and “draw” the venom out of
the bite.  I decided upon an ethyl alcohol wash and an ethyl alcohol
“pack” to place on the wound.  We used 70% ethyl rubbing alcohol, but
I think grain alcohol ( available at a liquor store or pharmacy )
would work better.  The wound was washed and the pack replaced
whenever the “pack” became somewhat dry. The pack is simply some gauze
soaked in the alcohol and held in place with tape.
This procedure worked like a charm for us.  After several days,
the wound regressed to the initial bite area.  We then used lavender
oil ( basil is also to be recommended) to complete the healing process
and replace some of the oils lost to the alcohol packs.
If you look at what a spider bite can do to you, this knowledge
may be of great importance to a lot of people.  Pass the info on.

That poor spider. It must have been desperate.

Is that the best you can do? I was feeling sorry for the spider who
bit you.

You strike me as the kind of guy who is immune to having their
identity stolen, since no one in their right mind would want to have
your identity.

Well, you surely cannot think with pus-for-brains. You show that with
every post.

Oil of Oregano is the most powerful thing available.  It stings but is
quick.

I have used oil of oregano on Black Widow and Tarantula bites.
