"Hyperalgesia Relieved By Alpha-trinositol"

Peripheral hyperalgesia in experimental neuropathy: exacerbation by
neuropeptide Y.
D J Tracey,M A Romm,N N Yao

Abstract
Injury of peripheral nerves often results in hyperalgesia (an
increased sensitivity to painful stimuli).
This hyperalgesia is mediated in part by sympathetic
neurotransmitters.
We examined the effect of neuropeptide Y (NPY), specific Y1 and Y2
agonists, and an NPY antagonist on peripheral hyperalgesia in rats
whose sciatic nerves had been partially transected.
NPY and the Y2 agonist, N-acetyl [Leu28,Leu31] NPY 24-36 exacerbated
both mechanical and thermal hyperalgesia, while the Y1 agonist,
[Leu31, Pro34]NPY relieved thermal hyperalgesia. Mechanical and
thermal hyperalgesia were both relieved by alpha-trinositol (PP56), a
non-competitive antagonist of the actions of neuropeptide Y.
Hyperalgesia was also relieved by surgical sympathectomy, which
eliminated the effects of NPY and its agonists.
These results suggest that neuropeptide Y contributes to peripheral
hyperalgesia by actions at Y2 receptors, which may be located on
postganglionic sympathetic terminals.

"Alpha-Trinositol"

Tocopherol / vitamin E / **alpha** .
Phytate / IP6 breaks down INTO .. IP3 / **Trinositol**.

"Crude lecithin is composed of tocopherol or vitamin E and
phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylsterine and other phospholipids"

THAT means they ARE .. exactly the **same**.

Tocopherol and trinositol found in plant oil lecithin,

They **recreated** a breakdown product of plain old plant oil
lecithin .. ?

It is very good at what it does.

It prevents hemolysis and thrombosis.

"Crude lecithin--whether from soy, corn, canola, rice or other oils--
is composed of a variety of compounds. Some of these components--such
as tocopherol or vitamin E-possess significant nutritional benefits.
The emulsifying phospholipid portion of lecithin contains
phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylsterine and other phospholipids.
These molecules hove been used for health purposes as well, most
often
as dietary supplements."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Inositol, also part of the B vitamin complex, is closely associated
with choline. Like choline, inositol (as phosphatidylinositol) is also
found in lecithin, though in lesser amounts than choline, and acts as
a lipotropic agent (milder than choline) in the body, helping to
emulsify fats. The body can produce its own inositol from glucose, so
it is not really essential. We have high stores of inositol; its
concentration in the body is second highest of the B vitamins,
surpassed only by niacin.
Sources: Inositol is present in both plants and animals. It is part of
phospholipids in animals; in plants, it is contained in phytic acid,
which can bind calcium and iron. It is not totally clear how inositol
is produced by the body; it may be made by intestinal bacteria. It is
stored in the body, but drinking lots of coffee can deplete these
stores. Inositol is found in the whole, unprocessed grains, citrus
fruits (except lemons), cantaloupe, brewer’s yeast, unrefined
molasses, and liver. It is also available in wheat germ, lima beans,
raisins, peanuts, cabbage, and some nuts. And, of course, lecithin is
a good source.

Surgery is not used as a treatment for usual neuropathy.  In the abstract
surgery,ie. cutting nerves, was used to be able to isolate parts of the
nerve system as a research tool.

As is most often the case, not comprehending what is posted leads to
floppy subject lines and worse conclusions.

"neuropathy."

Using the word surgery is a bit of a strech.  As a method of isolation
some nerves and not some others were cut.  It is a research tool not a
trial for a proposed treatment proceedure.

Once again, not comprehending what is in an abstract and jumbing to all
manner of unwarrented conclusions and strange subject lines.
