I am a 64 year old woman and I want to start taking dessicated liver
for my health.  I searched the net and found numerous sites that sell
it in tablets and powder.
What is the best form for taking it: powder or tablets?  Also, where
is the best place to buy it and what is the best brand?  Any help will
be appreciated.  Thanks.

Is there any reason not to use fresh liver?

Historically, the main use of liver is the treatment
of pernicious anemia.  For that purpose, it must be
fresh and raw, because natural vitamin B-12 (the lack
of which causes pernicious anemia) is rapidly degraded
by processing.

Liver carries the risk of vitamin A poisoning,
if taken in large amounts.  Vitamin A is one of
the vitamins which can be harmful in excess.
