Alleviate Cure Itching Caused by Posion Ivy

Hi, besides calomine lotion what is helpful to redice itching caused by
posion ivy?

Whatever you do, don't scratch.  You can get some
nasty infections from breaking that skin.

Pretty much the standard stuff for any skin irritation.

A lot of North American tribes use boiled acorns; tea or
other tannic preparation might help.  The itch is caused
by a T-cell response to an allergen in the oil, so
antihistamines may make it possible to sleep.  Obviously
the corticosteroids are available if you want to go there,
but since the dermatitis lasts up to three weeks you
should be careful with them (as in, don't take my word.)

Otherwise, it's standard contact dermatitis so you can
use poultices of cornstarch, baking soda, etc.

Don't forget to totally clean (with soap) anything that
might have come in contact with the stuff, because it can
hang around on clothes, shoes, tools, ... for up to a year.
