I was quoting you, Tom, not Dar. You ARE the same Ironjustice that posted it at 7:44 PM on June 5th, aren't you? Because that was the one I was quoting. But it is refreshing to see that you got at least part of the message correctly. Yes, I was indeed calling someone an idiot, the same one I was quoting. That would be you.
Ya know, Tom, with your track record that I can see, I would speculate that your 'research analyst' routine is your way of saying that you are self-employed, because the ones that would be paying you to do what you do have discovered that you are short-sighted, heavily biased, and very ready to conveniently ignore those annoying bits of information that are not consistent with your preconceived expectations. IOW, a dismal analyst.
But thanks for your amusement value. After all, it is YOUR thread.
If anyone feels that I am unjustified in holding this opinion, feel free to tell me so, privately or in this forum.

Feel free to show where I called anyone, or their notions, stupid. Even though it is sometimes tempting. The word simply isn't applicable, but if you, in your ignorance, choose to use it, that's your choice.
I do, however, recall noting that from the evidence I have seen, you are indeed a dismal analyst. With a faulty notion of causality.

Ya know, I don't know or care what Dar does, but I do know that you purport to be a "Health Research Analyst". And in spite of your slogan of "Having more success in the medical field than anyone in history", you don't seem to have a lot of people sharing that opinion. Your "profile" shows that out of over 700 responding readers, you have a single star. That's a level generally held by spammers. Are you a spammer, Tom?
But anyway, about Dar. She doesn't even suggest to have the level of sophistication at evaluating research reports that you purport to have. So before you posted the URL that you started this thread with, you really should have noted that the 15 patients that were "CURED" had not even been determined to have FMS in the first place. Mike Jones was smart enough to note, however, that he was not saying they had it, because his license would not permit him to make such diagnosis. After all, a differential diagnosis would be made, the options evaluated, found to not be appropriate, and the diagnosis of fibromyalgia to be applied. Didn't happen. Patients that underwent no such evaluation were pronounced to have fibromyalgia (but not officially) and then cured.
BUT YOU, AS HEALTH RESEARCH ANALYST, need to be held to a higher standard. Instead of just dropping something like that into the view of unfortunates such as Dar, you needed to at least read the information and deliver it as a purported and very poorly substantiated claim of fibromyalgia cures.
But I don't expect that sort of thing to happen.

OH NO YOU DI'INT !!!!!!! :------------------------ ((((((((((
Hahhaha! You are so funny Michael!
At least you redeemed yourself by stating that you do not know or care what I do! :-)
Quite honestly, you don't know who I am or what I've done in my lifetime. There are only a hand full of folks that do. Unfortunately for me, and the others, two of them have died and I miss them terribly!
My persona here, is quite the "dumming down". It's a choice that I've made a very long time ago. I don't want to add any extra stress to myself and FMS. To include the rest of my medical conditions. I've just wanted to have fun and peace....... at any moment in time.
If I can put a smile on just one face during the day when they've read what I've written, I'm happy and delighted. I've accomplished what I've set out to do, in the first place. How many other folks can say this? That they just want to bring laughter and peace to those whom are suffering through pain and agony......
I personally know, that when some of the folks here place a smile on my face, and they do......it makes me feel just a wee bit better! It lifts my spirits at least....... :-)
If you are as astute as I think that you are, you'd notice that I don't post when I'm in a flare or in severe pain. Obviously, I'm unable to sit and input into the computer...... Not to mention, I'm utterly useless in the laughter department......
Unfortunates:
Ummmmm. Let me see........
This "unfortunate", has been fortunate to receive the education that I have, the positions I've held, the countries and places that I've lived and visited, and the folks that I've met along the way, in my journey through life.
This "unfortunate", relies upon information from physicians and others in the medical community that have actually been awarded/secured the grants, that were given for their necessary research. To also include, having family members and friends, that are the physicians and members of the medical community.
This "unfortunate", picks and chooses what she reads and their content, within the body of the text. Regardless, who the author is and it's substance.
This "unfortunate", is fortunate that she knows that there are no cures for FMS. This syndrome has not been fully investigated, nor has it been identified as a disease.
This "unfortunate", is extremely fortunate to have the FMS friends that I've made throughout the years, to include the new ones.....
This "unfortunate", has always been fortunate, for goodness sake !!!!! ;-)
Take care and be well out there! Debra

Michael B. knows of my writing on the AMF, for a very long period of time...... All one needs to do is to look up the past history of when he started posting and when I did. You would have to research me under my older addy: alrhody. Michael has tolerated me, at my worse ..... and humored me at my best. He's never been nasty to me, even if we disagreed on something. He's come to my aid countless times, for which I truly appreciate.
Believe me, if Michael B. wanted me to know that I'm an idiot he'd tell me..... The type of person that I am, can handle the truth.....

I stand by what I wrote to you. It was a great read for me. Maybe not for everyone else here.....
How does it make me feel overall?
I feel very sad, Major Tom. I wish that everyone could get along with one another. Even when they care to disagree. That's why there's the UN, I suppose. Although, my opinion on whether the UN is effective in today's society, is rather long and drawn out. It would be inappropriate for me to post to the AMF regarding it, in the first place.
My true concern here, Major Tom is, how does it make you feel with folks constantly giving negative feedback to some of your postings...... It can't feel good at all....... I just wonder how you deal with it....... Perhaps, it's all just a joke to you and that's how you logically deal with it. Who knows, but you?
My apologies to: alt.support chronic-pain, misc.health.alternative, sci.med, and sci.med.nursing for this posting. I just realized that what I've written here, and what I might write on this thread afterwards, will be sent to you.

People who say they don't like the noise he generates are always the ones who are adding to it by poking at him or arguing with him.

Thank you for your input regarding posting and how it affects this situation. If you are at all familiar with AMF, you'll know that this is a "unmoderated" newsgroup, forum. Everything and anything can, will, and has been posted here.... It's up to the viewer to read or not, post a reply or not... I'm sure you get the idea.
My reply to Major Tom is genuine. It's not poking or arguing with him. It's out of deep concern on how it affects him with all the negative feedback that he receives. Time and time again. Whether or not it thrills him as you've already suggested, or is this all just a joke to him? I'm afraid that I'll never know......
If you'll take the time and effort and read my posting to him at that beginning of this thread, you'll read that I wanted him to know that what he posted, FMS'ers could relate to the author of the article. It was postive feedback. Perhaps that was my mistake.....in the first place.
Take care and be well out there! Debra
