You don't.

Seriously, you don't. You're not "Rain Man". You're not a genius in any
way. Nor are you a tragic figure. Your real affliction is an inflated ego.

Stop trying to make yourselves exceptional by pretending to have an
esoteric disease.

Sorry for my profanity.    Not my kid (don't have any), I have Asperger's.
I am 39 and every day is a struggle to communicate with people.     I have
few freinds and socially isolated.     I have made some progress, but like I
say, every day is a struggle.

That's not what Asperger's is. Nobody with Asperger's is claiming to
be a genius savant. Asperger's just means you don't instinctively grok
social protocols the way the rest of humanity does subconsciously. It
means you don't read nonverbal communication in the way that most
people do without being able to explain how. It means you tend to
overfocus on a handful of interests and relate everything back to
those interests, thereby being a frustrating person with whom to
converse. It means if someone wants something from you, they have to
actually say what it is instead of dancing around it and assuming
you'll guess.

That must not work both ways, because offering the clinical definition
of AS doesn't address the original issue in any way.

I agree with Felicity!!!!

People who try to put down people with Asperger's are no betgter than
bullies in the playground: they put you down because you're 'not a
genius' and they put you down because you're 'not like others' - the
person with Asperger's can't win with those typre of people.

I say, anyone who does that is insecure and nasty themselves!!!

You shouldn't pick on others, no matter what.

You are a trully nasty individual to pick on people on Asperger's or
maybe you're just not all there....
What you do is just as bad as bullying and that's NASTY!

If you call it a "syndrome" the asshats will want a special day, a
telethon and vanity plates...
