Interesting read:

And comments that follow.

Now, the question is, if one is getting paid to post--think of all of
the advantages it would be to create sock puppets!!

It has been my contention there may be a couple who are paid to blog,
while fighting IMAGINARY sock puppets. . .I wonder how much they are
getting paid???

Considering that blogging has nothing to do with Usenet, I wonder how
much Pee-Turb is being paid to conflate the two.

My time is my own, Andy.  Don't you wish you could say that?

In other words, you're claiming to be stupid as opposed to being paid
to act stupid.
Stupid is as stupid is paid to be, Pee-Turb.

Does that explain why you stalk me here on mha?  Perhaps you "think"
that by bringing this up even when I do not that it reduces the
chances I will.  Not very clever, but I can understand the fear.
Please say hello to your sponsors for me.

Yes Andy, please give your sponsors my regards also.
They must be pleased with your thoughtful and very insightful posts.
Did they waive the education requirement?

I wonder how you landed a sponsor role??????

That _IS_ topical and worthy of discussion.  Stick with the topic,
that works for you & us.

What is the defference by being hit at 60 MPH heazd on with a
Volkswagen of a Toyota?
Chances are you will be dead.

Common sense 101.

The obvious point is using the internet groups, (whatever form they
may be) to disseminate information and being paid to do such is taking
place.
According to the NY Times people are getting paid something like
$10.00/post.
Not bad income.

Except that the posts in question are actual (if brief)
articles that take on the order of an hour to write.
They are hosted on websites which carry advertising
and otherwise have a funding source based on the number
of readers, which is where the money comes from.

The reason this is newsworthy is that "blogging" is
replacing more traditional news and commentary online
and thus there is a great demand for readable content.
There just isn't much *pay* anywhere near what reporters
and columnists formerly received.

The sites in question run to tens of thousands of page
views per article.  MHA?  It is to laugh.

There is a second class of "pay to post" where the rates
for shilling traffic to the site run two to three cents
per 200-word post.  A third-world speed typist might get
by on those rates, but the total volume of MHA's most
prolific posters wouldn't amount to a single latte a day.

You seem to know a lot about at least this one subject.
Is it lucrative for you?

Easy way for you to find out, but it seems that you're
afraid to step up to the table.  One might wonder why.

Making things complex whern a simple soution is readily availableis
absurd.
You want to make it complex.
You are not stepping upto the plate.
You are making a simple action more complex.

In addition, it does not matter since your methods
are indicative oi the fact that you most likely are a paid poster with
an agenda for a special interest group.
You will not offer a simple accepted disclosure that is the norm in
the scientific community.
Nothing more needs to be said as the answere is given in your failure
to disclose and
your absurd suggestions.
The topic is answered and closed in my book.

So since it's "most likely" that I am paid to do this,
you can pick up an easy $2000 just by calling.  That *WAS*
the whole point of the exercise -- and spin as you will,
you're just driving home the point that you don't believe
what you post.

Oh, yeah -- you're trying to use the fact that I'm willing
to put up *my* money to prove that you're a lier as "proof"
that you're right.

Weren't you telling people to go take a class in logic?

But it *is* simple -- I make an honest offer that nobody
in their right mind would refuse.

You refuse.  That's really _very_ simple.

> You want to make it complex.

The only thing complex going on here is your attempts
to spin this as anything other than you being caught
out in a lie.

> You are not stepping upto the plate.

Wow -- that is the most amazing PKB.
Name the CPA, fish.  We'll see who steps up to the
plate.

> You are making a simple action more complex.

Nope.  Simple as can be: I make an offer, you refuse.
Nothing complex about it.  I tell the truth, you
accuse me of lying, I put money on the table to see
who believes what they're posting.

You start making excuses.

Keep it up, fish, it's fun to watch.

No thank you; I do not want to end up with the same negative attitude
that you would appear to have.

How would one feel to realize that they had been talking to sock
puppets
for years on usenet???  <smile>
