Once upon a time the CDC website was a bit more text-oriented
and the reportable disease summary tables were available as
text files.  Unfortunately they've gone all PDF now.

However, I was able to gobble up the decade summaries for
1944-1993 and put them into a spreadsheet (thank insomnia).
Since this isn't a binary newsgroup, I'm not going to post
the 49K of .ods but if anyone wants to suggest a repository
I'll put it up for general use.

Of course, if anyone wants to try to merge the later annual
tables I'll be glad of the help; right now I'm trying to
suck them out of pdf2text but it's not pretty.

I want to thank you for the task you've undertaken.  Perhaps Peter
Bowditch could suggest a repository as opposed to Tim Bolen to whom I
suggest a sharp-edged, Polonium suppository.

I can certainly put it up on my site.

Some time ago I had an attempt to analyse the WHO M&M data, but the
volume is extraordinarily voluminous and analysis requires lots of
computer grunt. I can't say I wasn't warned, because WHO say that
mining their data is not for the novice or timid. I'll have another go
one day when I have a few billion processor cycles free.

It's a simple ODS -- how do you want it delivered?
