EFT improves self esteem Hi Everyone, Just about everyone has a self esteem issue in at least one part of their lives. Carol Henderson shows us how EFT can be a quality aid in this regard. Hugs, Gary By Carol Henderson Gary, I have a lot of clients who have low self-esteem. Sometimes, especially if they are very good looking, I am curious to find out if they realize they are pretty or handsome. I ask them, "on a scale from 0 to 10, with ten being movie star good looking, where would you put your looks". Much of the time they say about four! I just start tapping with them, Even though I am below average in looks... Even though people say I am good looking, I think I am about a four... Even though I am not very pretty /handsome, I love and accept myself, anyway. Usually we don't have to do more than three rounds before the person thinks they are about an 8 on a scale of 0 to 10. This is HUGE for self-esteem. I do the same thing for people who don't think they are very good parents. They will report being below average as far as parenting goes. Sometimes I make the EFT setup phrases very negative to get a reaction out of them quicker. Even though I am a terrible mother /father... Even though I never say the right things, or encourage or support my kids... Even though I am not a very good parent... They will go along with saying these negative things for a while, maybe two rounds, but then start saying, "Really, I do support my kids", or "I really do love and take good care of them." After a few rounds of the negative, then I add in some positives. Even though I didn't use to think I was a very good parent, I am beginning to see I really am. Even though I used to think I was just a fair parent, I realize I do a very good job parenting them. Even though it is hard, and sometimes I loose my temper, I do my best to love and take care of them, and will continue to do better and better. Then, when they rate themselves, they realize they are actually an above average parent. I normally dismiss psychology as a fraud, but there was a recent study where Americans and foreigners were asked to rate their opinion of their intellectual skills then those opinions were compared to their performance on standardized tests.
