Bending the Elbow and Conventional Exercise Prolong Life
By John Gever, Staff Writer, MedPage Today
Published: January 02, 2008
Reviewed by Dori F. Zaleznik, MD; Associate Clinical Professor of
Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston.

COPENHAGEN, Jan. 8 -- Exercise and moderate alcohol intake were
correlated with lower death rates over a 20-year period, researchers
here found.

People who consumed from one to 14 alcoholic beverages a week had 20-
year death rates from ischemic heart disease about 30% lower than did
non-drinkers across all levels of physical activity, reported Morten
Grønbæk, M.D., Ph.D., of the University of Southern Denmark, and
colleagues in the online European Heart Journal.

It's the latest study to find, as the researchers put it, "adverse
health effects associated with alcohol abstention." .........

http://www.medpagetoday.com/PrimaryCare/DietNutrition/dh/7893

Benefits seem to be at least as good as drug treatment such as
statins. 30% decrease in heart related deaths and benefit on all cause
mortality

In our collective clinical experience, the folks that are living the
longest are the ones who are the hungriest (healthiest) because they
have not been overeating thereby accumulating that harmful VAT:

In our collective experience for these people their life only seems
longer because of the misery of being hungry.

The people who do live the longest are those who are soleless.

Being barefoot is blessed.

Was looking at

Hazard ratios (95% confidence intervals) for fatal ischaemic heart
disease associated with the combined influence of leisure-time physical
activity level and weekly alcohol intake among 11 914 men and women
(1242 cases).

....

Graph.  If the error bars are similar or can a line can touch them all

In classical statistics, things are complex because you need to know what
comparisons were planned and which were post hoc. It can be messy.

But keeping things simple--and not having read the full report!--it looks
like the authors want to compare the solid dark circle on the left (inactive
nondrinker) with the other categories. Roughly, if the 95% intervals shown
include the value for the solid dark circle, the difference is not
significant.

Correct.

It remains wiser to address the overeating which leads to the
formation of VAT, which is the proximate cause of ischaemic heart
disease:

The VAT may be more proximate because it is closer to the heart, but
the cause of heart disease is wearing shoes.

Matthew 7:1-2 comes to mind here.

May you and other dear neighbors, friends, and brethren have a
blessedly wonderful 2008th year since the birth of our LORD Jesus
Christ as the Son of Man ...

Hunger is wonderful :-)

It's how we know what GOD wants, which is what is good.

Yes, hunger is our knowledge of good versus evil that Adam and Eve
paid for with their and our immortal lives.

Those who suffer from the powerful delusion predicted by the prophecy
of 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 would deny this and perish however:

I hope you're not deliberately starving yourself to death. God gave
food to be eaten and herbs for medicine. Although starvation may put
you in an altered state of mind, it is not biblical for man to
continually starve himself.

If you disagree, show me where the Bible recommends anything in this
regard, except not to be a glutton or to fast for short periods. Only
God incarnate as Yeshua` the Messiah is deemed to have fasted for a
prolonged period, and he had angels ministering to him.

Eating until full, stomach stretched, thereby killing the hunger is
overeating:

Untrue.

Noone has ever died from hunger.

There is not a single death certificate out there listing hunger as
the cause of death.

Starvation is not hunger.  Folks who are dying of anything including
starvation are not hungry.

Indeed, those who feel hungry can be assured that they are not dying.

Are you crazy?  That's a rhetorical question because you definitely
must be. Hundreds of thousands of people worldwide die from hunger
every day. It's called starvation, not hunger.

A laborer's hunger drives him because he works to eat, to put food on

Incorrect.

What Luke wrote is not a paraphrase of Matthew 5:6, but rather what
the Holy Spirit inspired a physician to write, which would concern
physical hunger rather than spiritual hunger.

While we remain in this world, there will be the "silver thread" as
described in Ecclesiastes that connect the soul with the body so that
spiritual hunger will feel the same as physical hunger allowing both
Matthew and Luke to describe the flip sides of the same coin.

May we, who have had our hearts made discerning by the Holy Spirit,

P.S. This (Matt. 5:6) has nothing to do with starving for food: Matt.
5:6 "Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:

righteousness; nothing to do with food or drink.

Chung is one of Satan's Shoe Puppets and therefore lies.

The Trinity in Hell is Satan, Satan's Shoe Puppets and last Satan's
Sock Puppets.

Wearing shoes and socks is Satan's way .....  being barefoot is God's
Way
