There's all sorts of advice out there, good and bad, but what works
varies from person to person.
The best forum I've found for good advice is alt.support.diabetes,
but, like all Usenet groups, everybody doesn't agree on everything.
It's a relatively civilised place (provided that you don't respond too
often to three well-known nutcases (AC, JG, RM) who are obsessed with
Jesus, iron and aspartame respectively) and you don't have to be
diabetic yourself to participate.
Almost as soon as you introduce yourself on a.s.d you will be referred
to http://www.alt-support-diabetes.org/NewlyDiagnosed.htm. It is well
worth the time to read this.

Thank you, I'll pass this on to my hubby and I'll check it out. UM MOM
