Hi all,

I began experiencing random cold sensations all over,
and I was trying to search for problems that might
cause this, but I haven't had any success in finding
anything specific. Is there a good website that lets me
search by symptom?

Thanks.

By "random cold sensations all over" do you mean that you get a cold
sensation all over your body at random times, or that you get a cold
sensation on an individual random part of your body at times?

It's usually one location. For instance, a second ago it was
a big spot on my foot. Now, a much smaller cold spot was on my hand.
I might go half a day with no problem. At other times it will be 10
times
a minute.

This sounds a little like a problem I have experienced a few of times.
In my case, it was a very sensitive spot instead of a cold spot.  For
example, if the spot were to manifest on my leg, my pants rubbing
against it would be VERY uncomfortable.  Later the spot might move to
my chest.

In my case, I eventually learned it was a food sensitivity.  For me, it
was peanuts.  Since that discovery, any time the problem has come back,
I can look back over the previous days and see that I had increased my
peanut intake... either by eating peanuts directly, or maybe peanut
butter or trail mix.

Try keeping track of all of the foods you eat and then see if any of
them tend to bring on the symptoms.  You can learn more about food
sensitivities here:

Hope that gets you started.

"cold sensation" is your expression.  I'd guess that Max is on the path.
You are experiencing nerve sensations.
VERY often it is allergies and occasionally a nerve disorder.  Keep a diary
of what you eat and when the sensations occur.

OR we could say that it was ghosts trying to communicate with you from the
other side :>)

Ahem...was your zipper open?

Did you wear your mittens?

Were you wearing a scarf and hat?

I think Max has you on the right track.  What I always tells people is
that symptoms vary too greatly to make much headway without consulting
a naturopath.  If you aren't ready to move in that direction, at least
check out the website he referred you to, but also make a trip to your
food-based health food store and hit the book rack.  Store staff can
also be remarkably insightful at times.

I suggest you see a doctor rather than asking the people in this NG or call
Dr. Edell.
