Ive got athletes foot. its gotten to the poinnt where its all over both
my feet (soles, heels, toes) and a part on my hand. I went to see the
doctor, he took a sample, and agreed with me that it is fungus...
He recommended that I buy creams and what not and apply it every day
etc. I did that for about 3 months. but since the fungus is so wide
spread, i went thru a tube of creme in 4 days. The fungus actually got
wrose (i believe its cuz my feet rub together at night, it spreads -
should i wear sox in bed?), I spent hundreds of dollars on these
remedies.
I wear big boots and gloves at work, so the sweat builds up, the fungus
loves it. I have no choice but too wear these articles of clothing.
I heard hydrogen peroxide (3%) does the trick, so far its working a
little bit. The down side is that after im done soaking my feet in it,
the skin on my feet burns uncontrollably in places where the fungus
doesnt live. It starts to rash up for about several hours. Im a bit
iffy about going back to it.
My grandfather gave me some 98% pure iodine. This stuff you cannoy get
in the stores, he got it due to the fact hes a vet. Its working so far
(because i dont have to sit there with my feet in peroxide or with
cream on them for extended periods of time). The down side is, you
never know when its fully killed the fungus.
I tried urinating on my feet. that didnt help at all.
Im looking at alternatives such as bleach and pure rubbing alcohol.
Those dry up the skin and are lethal to the fungus. What I want to know
is do these have any bad side effects, and should i stay with my
current tretment, the iodine.
Btw, I still dont know how to get rid of the fungus on my hand, its
most liekly from manipulating my feet.

Hi Mastadex
Sorry about your athletes foot. I have a few of suggestions......
1) ask your physician about a systemic antifungal, especially if this
is a widespread problem.
2) take extra socks (white, cotton or even better...a type like
polypropylene as a liner sock under your wool or cotton blend socks to
wick the moisture away from your skin) with you to work and change your
socks thruout the day.
3)use an antifungal spray in your work boots and gloves...you may be
reinocculating (reinfecting) yourself with the fungus.
4)spray your shower and any grout with an antifungal spray for the same
reason as above
5)try switching to an antifungal powder during the day instead of a
cream...pay special attention to between your toes.
6)try getting a pedicure to scrape away the surface fungus growing on
your skin.
Once you have your fungus under control...keep up with the maintenance.
It likes to live in your skin and will probably keep coming back if
you don't keep up with it.
Good luck!

What is systemic Antifungal? Is it those lamasil pills, because i was
given those and they didnt help much either (other then to kill my
liver).
Maybe I should make an appointment to a foot specialist, but i doubt
they will tell me anything new. Doctors are doctors and they perscribe
the same things to you.

Perhaps Diflucan might be a better choice.

Yes, reality is the same for everybody, so doctors tend to have the same
answers. Do you want creativity or results?
