" In my medical opinion, Abubakar Tariq Nadama's death last month during
chelation therapy by Dr. Roy E. Kerry at his office in Portersville will
likely be found to be due to a complication of the synthetic chemical
EDTA infusion he received to purportedly treat his autism.
His death was wholly unnecessary."

...

"One side effect of EDTA is that, in addition to binding lead, it also
can bind calcium.
Calcium is a vital element for the human body. Not only is calcium a
component of bones, it is a crucial part of the machinery that runs the
heart's intrinsic pacemaker, and also is responsible for helping to
generate the pumping action of the heart muscle.
Fluctuations in the level of calcium, too little or too much, can be
disastrous and precipitate cardiac arrest.
I believe that this is the mechanism responsible for Nadama's death."

...

"I believe it is a dereliction of duty for a physician to employ this
practice without even a shred of evidence to support it."

I think we have had enough discussions about  chealation.

I wish you would stop  being so argumentative, so that  we can have real
discussions about kids' health.

are not entitled to do so according to Jan?

That is originall from:

http://www.capmag.com/articlePrint.asp?ID=111

"About the Author: Amesh Adalja is a graduate from Carnegie Mellon
University with a BS in industrial management."

The AMA lists the author of the newspaper opinion article that I
referenced as being a board certified internist.

Yes, Jan, OOPS! You are opposed to someone exercising their First
Amendment rights (nothing new) and seem to use an ad hominem, except
that you cited the wrong person.

What a screwball you are.

Yes, he's saying that EDTA shouldn't be used, even for heavy metal posining,
since it stops the heart.  The millions of infusions of EDTA that didn't
kill anyone were statistical outliers and should be excluded to keep this
sample at one.
