Actually the body's own macrophages use hydrogen peroxide to destroy
foreign invaders (bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc.) by oxidizing them -
this is of course after engulfing the invader.

Extremely high doses of vitamin C causes diarrhea and can actually have
an opposing effect on the immune system., and effect the proper
absorbtion of other vitamins. Also, the marker for certain types of
cancer is an over production of white blood cells, you may not want to
risk increasing that production by supplimenting vitamin C.

I'm sure that was one of the reasons for using an injectible form was
the effects of diarrea. Calcium Ascorbate, Ester C have the least
adverse reactions.
