I have always seen anti-candida regimens that call for ingestion of pau
d arco and probiotics like acidophilus. This seems strange to me as pau
d arco is referred to as an anti-bacterial. So won't it kill the good
bacteria in the intestines that we are trying so hard to cultivate? --

They are compatible, but should be taken at different times. Pau d'Arco is
used for its anti-fungal properties. The Pau d'Arco will work as an
anti-fungal, and the acidophilus will restore a proper level of probiotics.
You can take the acidophilus after waking up and at bedtime on an empty
stomach. You can take the Pau d'arco before each meal. You must follow a
diet that is free of sugar, alcohol, vinegar, bread products, malt, and high
glycemic carbohydrates for this program to be effective.
