must the saliva be odorless to be healthy?

i read somewhere that an odor in the saliva means one has halitosis.
but, doesn't all saliva have some odor?

    Generally, it is odorless when it enters your mouth.  What odors it
picks up there is somewhat up to you.  ;-)
