This year, the annual fund-raising event held by Cielo Latino, the
Latino Commission on AIDS, will take place on Tuesday, and will be a
very special affair.
The reason is not only that this time around it will be the largest
one ever moneywise, but also that this year, Cielo Latino will
celebrate the 20 years of life of its president, Dennis deLeon, since
learning of his HIV-positive status.
"My body is not that great," deLeon, who has been at the helm of the
Latino Commission since 1994, told me in an interview at his W. 25th
St. office in Manhattan. Diabetes and a bad heart are two of the
consequences of the harsh HIV-fighting drugs he has taken all these
years. "But I am alive."

At least he still has his faith... in HIV and the wonder drugs that
come with it.

"I think that what keeps me alive is the work I do," deLeon said. "I
am passionate about justice, health justice in particular, and
fighting to achieve it sustains me. I hope to live until I am 75."
[...]
But for deLeon, hope has to go hand-in-hand with reality.
----- End Quote -----
The reality that he's been pumping himself full of "harsh HIV-fighting
drugs" that have caused a slew of health problems? A crisis of faith?

I think that was a typo.
Perhaps it should have read, anal fudge-raising event complete
with AIDS ..........very special affair.
Either way, the wording is suspect.
