Wow-
Thanks to everyone who answered my question-I have ordered some from
BD and they appear on the website to be exactly the same ones.

I also found them on Fisher's website but BD had them for about $100
less.

thanks again to everyone

This email group totally rocks!!!!

Fisher Scientific.
1. overpriced in general
2. useless sales rep
3. sales rep in point 2 leaves/is fired/whatever, is replaced by a new
rep who works for Fisher for about a month before deciding it's a
terrible company and goes to work for Beckman instead
4. no word from Fisher - who is our rep?
5. find out, months later, that we are assigned an "inside rep" in
another city, i.e. nobody can be arsed to come and see us
6. absolutely inflexible on pricing of products that they have
exclusive distribution of, i.e. Millipore filters and stuff
7. annoying credit department - every other supplier we use will
provide a credit reference to help us set up a new account with
another supplier... Fisher won't.
Bah humbug. If I wasn't locked into ordering the #$*%& Millipore stuff
from them, I wouldn't order *anything* from them.
Grrrr.

rwintle - we have had the same problem with sales reps coming & going.
with as much business as we give them, it is tedious having to explain
our needs to a new person every other month or so!

Good (? well, maybe not...) to hear. Is yours a Fisher-specific
problem, or general across a number of different suppliers?

Fisher seems to be the only company we have problems with. Other
companies that we frequently contact (like Bio-Rad) have remained
consistent with their reps. - they even know me by name! But, Fisher
seems to have a fast turn-over of reps. I'm not sure if they lose
employees frequently, or just re-assign them.

See Mitch, poor Janet thought she was using a private e-mail system.
You go and put her name, address and phone number on a newsgroup.
With friends like you, who needs enemies?

and it isn't like you haven't been warned.
Just file it under misc.continued.f.ck-ups.

Perhaps I'll sign her up for some encyclopedias, c-o-d of course
