I saw the website above advertised on a San Francisco bus last night,
part of a propaganda campaign designed to prevent syphilis among gay
men (like syphilis matters when everyone's infected with HIV).  The
cutsie logo consists of two ugly boxer dogs dressed like a leather
daddy couple, and an accompanying slogan re-educates the viewer to
get tested for syphilis every 3-6 months.  The bus ad then went on
to graphically describe how syphilis is transmitted, including via
oral and anal sex.

or anal sex then oral..............sh.t-eaters.

I wonder if syphilis and HIV combined
confuse the cock-tails.

The last I heard SF had a syphilis that was drug-resistant.

Co-Epidemic XDR-TB + AIDS
Now Throughout S Africa
By Adriana Stuijt
11-2-7

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), citing South African
researchers, writes that more than half of all the new TB cases now are
co-infected with AIDS and dying within months of Extremely-drug- resistant
Tuberculosis (XDR-TB)

The deadly co-infection of TB+AIDS has rapidly spread from just one small
hospital in KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa where it started killing
hundreds of patients from October 2006. Local health systems throughout
Southern Africa are unable to contain the twin killer-epidemic, the UK
broadcaster reports.

Which, interestingly, is also two ways that heterosexuals get
syphillis. Also, the much-loved missionary postion.

I don't know what kind of mind a person has to have to call a public
health campaign "propaganda," but you've got it. Meanwhile, most gay
men don't have HIV.

Really?  What is the precise percentage of homosexual men infected
with the HIV virus?

Everyone isn't infected with HIV, and they are running public health
campaigns to reduce the number of new cases as far as possible. HIV is
not the only thing the Department of Public Health worries about, but
since you probably don't know, having syphilis increases the risk of
getting HIV - the virus can enter through syphilis sores.
