-----  Begin quote -----

‘In order to cough up the amount required for undergoing HIV Viral
Load Testing, 15 of us come together and contribute Rs 100 each every
month, and the weakest among us who has been on ART drugs for a long
time is given the preference for undergoing the test’, said one of the
members of the Marup formed by 15 HIV positive widows.

----- End quote -----

LOL.  If the HIV drugs are so good, why is the person who's been on
them the longest also the weakest?

This reality seems to be in stark contrast to the stories that came
from the HIV shindig in Australia.  The party-goers there were telling
the conference that HIV treatment was so successful that it should be
started earlier, and that patients on ART could expect their CD4
counts to return to 'normal levels.'

However, back in the real word, we discover people who have been on
the HIV wonder-drugs the longest also have the weakest immune system.

Oh, and the only purpose of HIV viral load testing is to determine
when a particular wonder-drug regime is failing.

So, basically, this story is about poor people who are clubbing
together to pay for tests to determine how ill the drugs they take are
making them.

Nice.

Perhaps they are using the viral load test looking
for hepatitis in addition to their AIDS.

Yes I used AIDS where you used HIV.
The article called the women HIV+ widows.
