"Myth: Now better treatments are available, HIV isn't a very serious
problem in the UK."

Erm, my HIV doctor tells me HIV is a treatable condition and people
infected can expect to live a normal life-span.  That doesn't even
sound like a serious problem to me, let alone a "very serious
problem."

"Fact: If you're diagnosed with HIV you'll have to take drugs every
day for the rest of your life. Unpleasant side-effects range from
diarrhoea to changes in body shape. HIV can become resistant to the
treatment, which means you have to switch drugs and, eventually, some
people are left with no alternative drugs. AIDS still kills thousands
of people in western countries."

Erm, people diagnosed HIV+ do NOT have to take drugs every day for the
rest of their life.  I was diagnosed HIV+ over twelve years and I've
never taken any HIV medication.

Oh yes,
<http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=42678#cause>:
"What Is AIDS?

AIDS is the final stage of HIV infection."

I thought death (small 'd,' not you) was suppose to be the final stage
of HIV infection.

"Who Can Get HIV?

Anyone can get HIV if they engage in certain activities. You may have
a higher risk of getting HIV if you:

* Have unprotected sex. This means vaginal or anal intercourse without
a condom or oral sex without a latex barrier with a person infected
with HIV.

* Share needles to inject drugs or steroids with an infected person.
The disease can also be transmitted by dirty needles used to make a
tattoo or in body piercing.

* Receive a blood transfusion from an infected person. This is very
unlikely in the U.S. and Western Europe, where all blood is tested for
HIV infection.

* Are born to a mother with HIV infection. A baby can also get HIV
from the breast milk of an infected woman."

Ooops.  They forgot the two biggest categories: being gay and being
black.

I'm always amazed at what these site don't tell you.
If the purpose is to educate people about a disease, do that.
Silly PC games and half-truths are allowing people to endanger
others.

Oops yourself. You (deliberately/disingenuously?) confuse a
transmission route with an at-risk group.
This is a list of ways the virus is transmitted.
So eg when they say it is passed on through anal intercourse  -
surprise, surprise! That includes gay men

Erm, no.  I don't believe HIV exists.  There isn't a transmission
route for a non-existent virus.

Yeah, sorry, I forgot.
So remind us, why has your CD4 count dropped to 100?

We've already been through this countless times.  Have you forgotten
about that too?
