Have you dreamed of going to Iran and actually making a difference? I
mean we all try to go in the summers and visit our families, visit all
the historical sties, and eat lots of delicious homemade food; but
haven't you wondered what it would be like to actually be a part of
the society there and observe things up close? ... Well here is your
chance.... Read on!
A couple of weeks ago I met a very remarkable young doctor here in San
Francisco Bay Area. His name is Dr. Kamiar Alaei. He and his team
have done some great revolutionary things in Iran to try to stop the
spread of HIV/AIDS. I have here a photo essay I did of his lectures
of which I attended. My notes are directly on the photos: http://

Doesn't this violate some U.S. law regarding trading with a sanctioned
nation? I wouldn't even make an exception for humanitarian reasons in
the case of Iran, let their glorious ragheaded ayatollah pray to allah
to solve the problem.

Since the only way you can get AIDS in by some Isalamic definition of
fornication and forncation can be punished by death, Why would the Iranians
even care about AIDS.

Iranians are people too. Just like all religions, some are whacked out
fundamentalist sh.ts and adhere to the most stringent views of the
religion. Most people just try to live their lives.
Iran, interestingly, has done more with condom distribution and
efforts to limit population growth than most any other country.
It's a beautiful country, a beautiful people, really. Would you blame
all US citizens for the fact our "leaders" are utter, complete,
thieving, lying murdering a.sholes?

Except that our government didn't orchestate the kidnapping of hundreds
of Iranians. Judging from the footage of the 1979 izlamist revolution,
it appeared to be a POPULAR revolution, and while the younger generation
has lost the izlamist fanaticism and become relatively apathetic, there
is still no evidence that have started liking us again.
Iranians are free to overthrow the cabal of insane ragheaded old clerics
who rule the country, then come to us and beg forgiveness and then ask
us to assist them with their HIV epidemic. Until then, they are our
sworn enemy and I really don't care if every Iranian catches AIDS and
dies a horrible death.

No. It just orchestrated the invasion of a nation that posed no
threat, lied about the reasons for doing so, completely f.cked it up
and resulted in tens or hundreds of thousands slaughtered, millions
maimed, millions displaced and homeless, chaos, increased global
hatred and fury at the US.....oh, and that's just ONE recent debacle.
You want to try Vietnam? Or the genocide of local nations? Or perhaps
slavery and its attendant further brutalities?
How about the incarceration of more people per capita than any other
country on the planet?
f.ck it, dear. You can play that stupid game and everyone loses.
How about the beauty of the United States? How about the great culture
and art--everything from William Grant Still to Stuf Smit to the
Velvet Underground and the Talkingheads (go, David!). From incredible
books and movies to great art and artists like David Wojnarowicz and
Jasper Johns. To amazing architecture.
Iran? They have a horribly overwrought extremist government full of
fundamentalists. The US? They have a horribly overwrought extremist
government full of fundamentalists.
But the PEOPLE! Wow. The country! Amazing!!
I go for humanity.
I wish there was a country that could be JUST for sniveling, lying
little psychotic cowards like you and Death to hang out in. JUST for
you and all the extremist fundamentalists.
Maybe a corner of Antarctica far from the penguins. The good news is
that within a few years or so, it should be a tropical paradise due to
all the global warming....
