You already committed suicide if you feel it necessary to take an
HIV test. Sure, this test may come back negative, even the next
test or the one after that, but sooner rather than later it will
come back positive. There really is no point in being tested
other than a positive result is the requirement for getting free
welfare, food stamps, and medical coverage.
My opinion is that pre-sex testing is useless when it comes to
the gay community. Assuming a perfect test that can detect HIV
within minutes of infection, two gay men who got tested could
not be sure they were still negative by the time they got home
from the testing clinic. If one let the other out of his sight
for even a few seconds, the other could buttfuck some stranger
on the sidewalk and consequently be HIV+ by the time the couple
arrived home ten minutes later. Assuming they made it home
monogamously and were still a couple by the next morning, at
some point they will have to separate to go to work or more
likely to the welfare office and crack dealer, and both would
manage to contract HIV by dinnertime.

Would you have sex with somebody you meet who
tells you they have an infection and that if you
get it you could die a prolongued, painful death?

There's no test for mutual fidelity.
It doesn't matter what sex the potential sex
partners are, knowing about any existing
infections before having sex reduces ambiguity.
