Hi everyone: I'm HIV+ and have been for eight years although my load is
negative and CD counts are high. My wife does know about this and always
has. Last night we messed up and did it without protection for the first
time. Needless to say I am freaking out. I know it's difficult, but can
anyone give me a percentage as to if she'll contract the virus?
I keep seeing online people saying that the chances are "low" but still
possible. I'd like to hear if you all might have stories/percentages.
And, please, save the sermons. I know what I did was stupid.

reply from drdach:
Transmission rate is about about 1 per thousand contacts.
Here is a quote from the peer reviewed medical literature:
Longini IM Jr., Clark WS, Haber M and Horsburgh CR. The stages of
HIV-1 infection, ... heterosexual HIV-1 transmission. J Infect Dis
1990,161:833-877
"The probability of transmission of HIV-1 from male to female during
an episode of intercourse has been examined in seven studies. Analysis
of
data from North American and European studies of heterosexual couples
provide estimates of per-sex-act HIV-1 transmission of approximately 1
in 1000 (0.001, ranging from 0.0008 to 0.002)."

Instead of weeping and/or hiding away in fear and/or saying you're stupid, why don't take
some days off to find out that HIV is a scam? Start here: www.virusmyth.com , read and
use your brain.

Yes. You'll quickly realize that they're full of sh.t (if you haven't
already).
Most of the claims and statements made on the site are demonstrably
false or distorted beyond recognition.
