The Padian Myth put to rest - once and for all

Hi All,

It's been a while, that's the way it is.  Hope everyone's well here.

Some news that I thought worth sharing about Nancy Padian.  We're all
well aware of the fact that her ten-year study of sexual transmission
is selectively-quoted and misinterpreted to try to show that HIV is not
transmissible through sex.  The fact that the couples were counselled
to use condoms is ignored, as are the many other studies proving sexual
transmission of HIV.

Dr Padian herself has finally spoken up, writing a piece that is hosted
on the AIDStruth website.  http://aidstruth.org/nancy-padian.php  It's
to-the-point, well referenced, and directly addresses the dissident
points.

If only more of the scientists involved in work that has been
mis-represented would also speak up...  The trouble is I guess that
thanks to the Perth Group that might include most of the field :-D

Cheers

You don't think that still will actually stop "rethinkers" from
claiming that Padian proved that HIV cannot be spread through
heterosexual sex.

Of course she would say that her work has not been suppressed or
ignored. If she told the "truth"  she would lose her funding! And
besides HIV has never been isolated and even if it had it couldn't
possibly cause AIDS because it's a totally normal retrovirus with no
AIDS gene which it obviously doesn't have because it hasn't been
isolated.

Do you get it now?

Good to hear from you.

Well who would have guessed it?

Poor Chris. What will become of you the day HIV=Aids is over?
No, I should put it otherwise. It is already over, HIV=Aids is just bloody nonsense for
blockheads. In fact, it's a scam that only continues to exist within the border of human
imagination.

I must put it like this:
Poor Chris. What will become of you the day you realise that HIV=Aids is nonsense?

AIDS: Acquired Intelligence Deficiency Syndrome.
If you believe it exists, you have it.

LOL!

They're so damn predictable.  Sad really.

What amazes me (it shouldn't really) is that Padian states in her
piece:

"But many people misunderstand probability: they think that if the
chance of misfortune is one in six, that they can take five chances
without the likelihood of injury."

And one dissident moron replies with:

"And in plain numbers, it means that an HIV-Negative man has to have
sex with the same HIV-Positive woman (or other HIV-Positive women)
anywhere from 10,000 times to 300 times (depending on which study you
want to believe) in order to seroconvert."

Simply astonishing.  And they accuse the mainstream of failing to learn
anything...  Statements like this reaffirm which 'side' of the debate
is the one with any sense.

The odds of dying in a commercial plane crash are about 1 in a million.
Nobody makes 1 million flights in their lifetime therefore nobody ever
dies in a plane crash.

All this money spent on safety is obviously wasted when all you need is
"rethinker" mathematics and logic.

Ahh, the dissident moron in question is Stephen Davis, author of yet
another populist book attempting to deny the evidence that HIV exists
and causes AIDS.

http://www.newaidsreview.org/posts/1154642038.shtml

His years of research appear to involve reading virusmyth articles.

He regurgitates the myth that has been circulating in "rethinker"
circles that the German High Court has ruled that HIV has not been
isolated - thus demonstrating the critical thinking of a rock.

Despite being provided with the actual court document he still clings
like a limpet to this myth.

A born "rethinker".
